DueNorth uses high-performance, user interface-independent, data model-independent meta-searching middleware featuring merging, relevance ranking, record sorting, and faceted results. It searches all the online catalogs in the Northern New York region in parallel and creates an internal, merged result set on the fly. This means that results are always up to date.

School Library and System Changes

There are a few changes to some school libraries everyone should be aware of:

Forestport Elementary School, in the Adirondack School District and whose library was part of the Jefferson-Lewis SLS, is now closed and has been deleted from DueNorth.
Holy Family School in Malone, part of the Franklin-Essex-Hamilton SLS, is closed.
Immaculate Heart Central Elementary, a member of the Jefferson-Lewis SLS, has merged its 'K-6' and 'middle' into one 'Central Elementary.' All changes have been made in DueNorth and are accurate.
Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School Library and Westport Central School Library's districts have merged into one: Boquet Valley Central School District. There may be eventual changes to these two school libraries in the future as the district determines grade levels for the buildings. Though the schools have new names within the district, their names will remain the same in DueNorth until further notice.
As of July 1, 2019, the Oswego School Library System became a member of the merged Onondaga, Oswego, Cortland and Madison School Library System, O²CM. Oswego county school libraries are still in DueNorth and are participating however will remain suspended for the time being.

* Note: Suspended libraries may still borrow! The suspension only affects lending.
